community roots run deep and aspirations soar, a quiet revolution is beginning with a trailblazing spirit named Kelly Nguyen Babb. Kelly didn’t just see empty spaces or disconnected activities; she envisioned a vibrant tapestry woven with laughter, movement, and genuine human connection. Her dream was singular yet expansive: to create a place where every resident, from the youngest child to the wisest senior, could find their daily dose of happiness.
This dream became club mi so. Coming out of the pandemic the community vibes changed and Kelly wanted to bring people back together again in person with happiness.
It started with a simple, profound belief: that happiness isn’t just a fleeting emotion, but a lifestyle cultivated through fun, food, and fitness. Kelly’s passion was ignited by the rich, wholesome flavors of Japanese and Asian food cultures, inspiring the cornerstone of her vision: mi so happy restaurant. This wasn’t just about delicious meals; it was about bringing healthy, clean foods to the community, nurturing connections through a vibrant community garden, and sharing the sheer joy that good food brings. Imagine the aroma of fresh ingredients, the laughter over a shared bowl of ramen, all making you feel truly mi so happy.
But club mi so was destined to be more than just a culinary delight. Within its walls, and stretching beyond, a dynamic world of activity unfolded. Two state-of-the-art indoor pickleball courts and two bustling basketball courts hummed with energy. Outside, an inviting sand volleyball space promised sunny afternoons of play, while a dedicated fitness area offered core workouts, toning, and lifting, encouraging everyone to find their strength. And for those seeking inner harmony, mi so fit offeres peaceful yoga sessions and disciplined Aikido classes, providing pathways to mindful living.
Beyond the activities, Kelly’s deepest desire was to forge genuine community. club mi so became a safe space—a haven where kids could be kids, teens could connect without judgment, and adults could unwind and build lasting friendships. In Arlington’s growing economic landscape, club mi so offered an anchor, a place where the community could gather, support each other, and grow together.
And this is just the beginning. Kelly envisions the “mi so happy movement” expanding, spilling beyond club mi so’s walls and into the very fabric of Arlington. She dreams of inspiring other businesses in Arlington Town Square to embrace this spirit of collective well-being, creating a ripple effect of fun, fitness, and fellowship for the entire town.
club mi so is more than a destination; it’s a promise. A promise to bring joy, foster health, and build unbreakable bonds, ensuring that every resident of Arlington, Tennessee, can find their daily dose of happiness.
The charm of the South met the bustling energy of modern life, stands a little restaurant with a big dream: mi so happy. Its founders, a passionate culinary artist named Annie and local business woman Kelly, both envisioned a place where the vibrant flavors of their heritage – Thai, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese – could blend harmoniously with the familiar comforts of American cuisine.
Annie and Kelly weren’t just interested in serving delicious food; they wanted to nourish their community. Kelly believed that healthy eating could be an adventure, a celebration of global tastes and fresh, clean ingredients. So, she connected with local Thai culinary star, Annie and they set out to create a menu that would not only tantalize taste buds but also support a vibrant lifestyle.
Their kitchen became a laboratory of flavor. Annie experimented with vegetables, lean proteins, and ancient grains, weaving them into traditional Asian recipes. Then in the midst of all the preparations for the menu, the kids came to mind. This is where the mi so happy kids meal came into the picture. mi so happy meals are offering a fun and educational experience for children by including chopsticks with trainer attachments, making it easy to learn this traditional Asian dining skill.
The journey began with a shared vision from Annie and Kelly. Their commitment to clean ingredients and vibrant flavors resonated deeply with the community, and mi so happy quickly became more than just a restaurant. It became a gathering place and a symbol of Arlington’s evolving landscape—a spot where global flavors met local sensibilities and healthy eating was always a joyful experience.
As our community grew, so did our mission. While Annie has transitioned to follow her passion with her own dedicated catering service, her legacy of quality remains part of our DNA. That heart is still visible in our home inside Arlington Fitness, anchored by the beautiful mi so happy mural, hand-painted by three generations of local talent: high school student Chloe Brown, her mother, and her grandmother.
mi so happy began with a simple rhythm: a local fitness community and a passion for fresh, vibrant Thai and Asian flavors. But as we listened to our neighborhood, our “Club” grew into something much bigger than a quick bite or a workout. We’ve evolved into club mi so—a full-day sanctuary designed for the community to feel at home from the first light of morning to the final set of the day.
As we’ve shaped this new space, we are proud to welcome a true flavor craftsman to the decks: Chef Jeff.
A Memphis local with a deep respect for heritage, Chef Jeff is redefining “healthy” through the art of the slow ferment. At the heart of his kitchen is a 250-year-old sourdough starter, a living piece of history used to craft his Famous Reuben and artisanal Personal Pizzas. For Jeff, health isn’t about restriction—it’s about real, ancient ingredients that fuel the soul.
From the crispy “Munchies” like our signature Quesadillas and Nuggets to the soulful comfort of his Main Dish residency—featuring Shrimp & Grits, Golden Catfish, and Slow-Smoked Pulled Pork—Chef Jeff brings a Memphis-born grit and grace to the table.
Whether you’re here for the heritage of the sourdough or the heartbeat of the community, welcome home. At club mi so, the evolution is delicious.
